Helping Our Clients/Students Navigate Career Transitions
Time & Location
About the Event
Participants will gain an understanding of the transitions our students
and clients go through using Schlossberg’s Transition theory of Situation, Self, Support,
Strategies (4 S’s) and what you can do to assist a “stuck” client. Two activities will be included
using a Change and Choice Wheel to help clients “see” their changes and choices. As career
counselors and coaches, we can then assist them in developing action plans.

SESSION 2 TITLE: Building a Private Practice in Career Coaching
DATE: Friday, February 12
Session Description: Many people think about starting a private practice and most people tend
to “dive in” and figure it out as they go. This session will introduce many of the key steps you
should think about first, resources to assist you, and tips I have learned when I “dove in” over 20
years ago part time and ten years ago full-time into Peak-Careers Consulting. Bring your
questions and we will try to answer as many as we can.
Members (to include The Pennsylvania Career Development Association and Rhode Island
Career Development Association) and Non-members Pricing: $10
